Fine Art Practice

I studied Fine Art at BA, MFA and Ph.D level. Drawing has always been a main interest. You can see some of my fine art works here.

The work below was made around the time I was writing and drawing my first graphic novel Becoming Unbecoming. You can see how they match the aesthetic of the book. They were made over winter in sub-zero temperatures by encouraging frost patterns to grow in diluted Indian ink. I then drew into the frost patterns with a pencil.

The work below was made during a period I became interested in working with unique book works. It is a Moleskine sketch book which is completely covered in soft graphite, then I etched drawings of objects around my studio into the pages using a hard pencil (6H). To display the book, I covered a wooden table with graphite, using soft graphite pencils.
